You made it a tough act to follow, but there can never be too much Cagney. By the way - welcome to CMBA!FlickChickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17351624749230610755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3428647353853444922.post-85198668630671757262013-01-20T17:27:54.602-05:002013-01-20T17:27:54.602-05:00I love that you included the Jack Benny spoof in t...I love that you included the Jack Benny spoof in this post. The funny thing is, Danny's brother also says a lot of the same things as Craven's character, so even with Craven's removal you get the same flavor.

Thanks for stopping by!Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05128111077794801640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3428647353853444922.post-39008503099705911842013-01-19T05:34:14.593-05:002013-01-19T05:34:14.593-05:00Really enjoyed reading this review. I like this film a lot and think Cagney is great in it, but have only seen it on the VHS released in the UK, in the theatrical cut with all Frank Craven's narration removed - I've been meaning to fork out for the US DVD with those scenes added in, so am interested to hear that you don't think they add all that much. I've read that Cagney had played a blind character on stage before he made it in films, though I can't remember which play it was. JudyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
